29-year-old Kimberley Deakin was fatally stabbed at her home on Leigh Street in the Burslem area of Stoke-on-Trent. The young mother managed to flee to the street to call for help but tragically died shortly after at the Royal Stoke University Hospital from multiple stab wounds to her face, neck, and chest. The perpetrator, her partner Lewis Crofts, fled the scene in her car but was arrested in Northamptonshire. In May 2021, he pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 16 years and 9 months.
